Riviera Maya has a significant increase in visitors from Europe

Tourism PromRiviera maya playa del carmen retirementotion Trust (FPTRM) of the Riviera Maya informed that approximately 42,000 Britain citizens arrived to the Mexican Caribbean during the month of October 2013, and this number is expected to be higher this year.

This month, will take place events of great importance in Riviera Maya (Playa del Carmen) and Tulum, such as the Day of the Dead Traditional Festival, the Mayakoba Golf Classic (only Golf Tournament approved by the PGA in Mexico), Taste of Playa and the succesful Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, all of which will generate a high impact in terms of income and touristic promotion in the area.

Dario Flota Ocampo , Director of the Tourism Promotion Trust (FPTRM) in Riviera Maya said “We are having a significant increase in visitors, mainly from Great Britain, Russia and other European countries“.

UK visitors usually stay in the Riviera Maya about 15 days and they expend of 2,700 euros per person average.

On the other hand, nearly 100,000 Russian visitors are expected to arrive to the Riviera Maya during October, November and December 2013, these travelers have an even higher purchasing power.
